The Canadian Airports Electrical Association has cancelled CANEW 2021 (which was last scheduled to occur in Victoria, September 26 to October 1).

As such, the next Canadian Airports National Electrical Workshop has been scheduled for September 25-30, 2022, again in Victoria.

It will be hosted at the Delta Ocean Pointe Resort, and the tradeshow portion will be held at the Songhees Wellness Centre.

Due to its cancellation in 2020 and 2021, organizers will celebrate 25th Anniversary of CANEW in 2022.

“It is going to take an enormous effort to get CANEW back on track,” writes Murray Ames, CAEA president. “We need a great team effort from everyone as we move toward 2022. All and any help will be greatly appreciated.”

Ames adds that there have been many changes since the last CANEW in 2019, “so please send us any updates for contact information or personnel that you may know of”.

“Most important, stay healthy and safe as the vaccines roll out. We look forward to seeing everyone in Victoria for CANEW 2022,” Ames concludes.

Organizers add that the CANEW website will be updated soon.

The non-profit Canadian Airports Electrical Association was established to host and facilitate the Canadian Airports National Electrical Workshop each year, with the goal of maintaining and promoting airport electrical safety and training, thereby ensuring the safety of workers, facilities, and the public.
